A visit from the Central Beds council

A deviation from the norm this week, with our usual 1 minutes followed by a 15 minute presentation by Caron Kendall, Business Marketing Officer, Central Bedfordshire Council.

With around 20 members & guests there regularly at recent meetings, timing on our 1 minutes has been more strictly enforced (we’re not a strict club, but we have to be fair to all members & not impinge on each other’s time).  This week, David Harrison of Team Building Away Days gave an excellent 1 minute, explaining what a good 1 minute needs – preparation and practice.

This was followed by Caron Kendall, whose target is to generate 27,000 jobs in the Central Beds area by 2026. Not many people aim for such longevity in a position, so she should be congratulated for her determination, if nothing else.  As well as telling us a lot about how well she listens, the Business Time Bank concept was also briefly introduced.  You can read more about Business Time Bank here.

We finished with over a dozen referrals for work between members & their contacts, again a good showing.
